Clout5 Announces Chicago’s Highly Anticipated Speakeasy Culinary Experience with Celebrity

Clout5 is pleased to announce its Haute Experience event, the first in a series of unique culinary experiences designed to enchant, entertain, and feed into a social giving movement designed to redefine the meaning of “giving back.”
Chicago's own celebrity Chef Frank Whittaker—a two-time finalist on Chopped and a judge on the TV series’ upcoming season—will create an exclusive menu for an intimate evening at Soho House Chicago's penthouse kitchen. The event will take on a sophisticated speakeasy vibe, replete with gourmet food, rich ambiance, and entertainment that are sure to impress even the most discriminating of tastes. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH), an advocacy organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Chicago.
If this sounds like a typical fundraiser dinner, think again.
With its One Haute Guest, One Hot Meal tagline and #AHauteMeal social media campaign, “typical” is the last word to describe this event. Touted as a “unique culinary journey from the kitchen to the table, to the streets,” Haute Experience seeks to tie a broad spectrum of human experiences to good social causes using the great human connector: food.
To kick off this event, Chef Whittaker will prepare meals for a local Chicago homeless shelter (one meal donation per event guest) with the same select ingredients used to create his specialty dishes being served later that evening. Why does that matter? “Because being homeless doesn’t mean you’re less deserving,” says Clout5 President and Founder Mary Landaverde. “Everyone is entitled to a hot meal and a special experience regardless of your socioeconomic position. That is what Haute Experience aims to provide.”
Preceding the event, Haute corporate sponsors and their guests will have the rare opportunity to meet the Chef in person, and together they will deliver the meals to the local shelter.
The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless was selected in 2014 by Clout5 from a number o charity organizations in the Chicagoland area to benefit from the agency’s philanthropic initiatives. CCH is the largest, self-funded organization in Illinois whose mission, community outreach, advocacy and public policy reform caught the attention of the agency.
“The work of this organization, particularly in building programs and scholarships for the homeless youth, was a large factor in our decision,” said Landaverde. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to kick off this event with CCH as our charity partner.” Haute Experience is an invitation to the public to learn more about charities like CCH and to support them in a close and personal way.
Clout5’s Creative Director and Partner Vanessa Palmer is the creative mastermind behind the Haute Experience. “All too often, charitable giving is vague and impersonal,” Palmer said. “Donating money or food to a charitable cause is certainly worthwhile and of great help, but what’s lacking is the personal connection between people to make it a fulfilling experience for both. Haute Experience creates that connection through a series of culinary experiences. Here is a chance to say, ‘I had a great meal tonight, and someone at the homeless shelter gets to enjoy the same great meal.’ We’re delivering lasting experiences - not only by feeding the homeless, but also by feeding the soul.”
